37 Years of Service. A Legacy of Impact. A Future of Possibility.
Since 1989, Civic Heart Community Services has been a driving force for change in Houston.
Founded in Houston’s historic Third Ward, Civic Heart was built on the belief that every individual deserves access to opportunity, support, and the resources needed to thrive. For 37 years, the organization has stood alongside youth, families, and individuals facing life’s greatest challenges, helping them build stronger futures and achieve lasting success.
Formerly known as Change Happens, Civic Heart has grown from a neighborhood-based initiative into a respected community organization serving thousands of individuals throughout the Greater Houston area. Through youth development, workforce development, housing stability, health and wellness initiatives, prevention education, family support services, and community engagement programs, Civic Heart continues to create pathways to self-sufficiency and success.
The impact of Civic Heart can be measured not only in numbers, but in lives transformed. Children have discovered their potential through mentorship and educational support. Families have achieved stability during times of crisis. Individuals have gained access to housing, employment, healthcare, and opportunities that have changed the trajectory of their lives.
The Civic Heart Masquerade Ball is more than a celebration. It is a tribute to 37 years of service, resilience, and community impact. This signature event brings together community leaders, partners, supporters, and advocates who share a commitment to building stronger communities and creating brighter futures.
As we celebrate our past, we are also investing in the future. Every sponsorship, ticket purchase, and donation helps Civic Heart continue its mission of empowering individuals, strengthening families, and transforming communities for generations to come.
Together, we honor our legacy. Together, we create the future.
