Real Estate Roundup: The Woodlands Hughes Landing Mixed-Use Development Signs Office Tenants
The Howard Hughes Corp. announced several leases at Hughes Landing, a 79-acre urban-style development with office, multifamily, retail and entertainment overlooking Lake Woodlands. Ring Energy, represented by Charlie Neuhaus and Harry Holmes with Partners Real Estate, leased 24,002 square feet to expand its headquarters at 1725 Hughes Landing. Haynes and Boone, a corporate law firm represented in the lease by Sanders Thompson with Transwestern, leased 7,568 square feet at Two Hughes Landing to relocate within The Woodlands. Plus Power, a developer of battery energy storage systems represented by CBRE’s Abby Alford and Lucian Bukowski, leased 6,991 square feet at Three Hughes Landing. Webber, a construction and infrastructure management company represented by Jerrod McQuain, Paul Penland and Mark Reilly with JLL, renewed its 46,164-square-foot lease at 1725 Hughes Landing. Landlord Howard Hughes Corp. was represented by Robert S. Parsley, Norman V. Munoz and Jillian Fredericks with Colliers.
Civic Heart Community Services, a minority-founded nonprofit social services organization with 75 employees, relocated to a larger headquarters in Third Ward at One Emancipation Center, across from Emancipation Park. The 10-year, 13,028-square-foot lease at 3131 Emancipation Ave. enables the organization to accommodate a growing number of programs and services, such as education, housing and supportive services, workforce and employment, and after-school and summer enrichment programs. John Guess III, president of The Guess Group, represented Civic Heart in the lease. Vergel Gay & Associates provided project management services. Developed by the Midtown Redevelopment Authority in partnership with the Center for Civic and Public Policy Improvement, One Emancipation Center houses various organizations engaged in affordable housing advocacy, administration and support services.
“Civic Heart has been a part of the historic Third Ward for the past 34 years,” Civic Heart CEO Helen Stagg said in an announcement. “We are delighted to find our new home in One Emancipation Center, with its tenant mix including several other nonprofit organizations working to create a thriving Third Ward community.
